Peterborough Northern Star 3 Eynesbury Rovers 0
Saturday, 13 October 2007
Star halted Eynesbury's winning run, in the process moving up to second place in the division.
The home side bossed the first half but failed to make the breakthrough with Ian Fovargue hitting the post and Karl Gibbs and Steve Thompson thwarted by goalline clearances.
Eddie Patten gave Star a 54th minute advantage with a long range chip after spotting Rovers keeper Dean Shipp off his line but the visitors remained in the hunt until the Gibbs brothers found the net in the closing stage to make it an emphatic margin of victory.
Karl Gibbs scored Star's second goal after 87 minutes with a rasping drive and brother Gary netted on his first team debut a minute from time with a well taken effort.
