Saturday, 25 August 2007

Wootton bounced back from their midweek FA Cup drubbing to share the points for the third time in three league outings.

After a low key first half S&L looked the more likely winners after the break with a Mark Forbes free kick rebounding to safety off both posts and Dom Johnson having a goal ruled out for an infringement.

All the goal action came at the end of the contest with Mark Forbes giving Stewarts & Lloyds the lead from the penalty spot after 88 minutes following a foul by home substitute Damon Hazlewood and Ishmael George hauling Blue Cross on terms in the final minute with a header from a corner.

Wootton: Piotr Karpiuk, Jamie Cole, Ishmael George, Ashley Hilton (Damon Hazlewood), Tom Hole, Sam Dawe, Danny Marsh, Scott McGregor, Krysztof Karpiuk (Darrell Elliott), Craig Daniel, Krysztof Matiskiewicz (Anish Khinda).

S&L: Richard Lavin, Trevor Duncan, Fraser Kerr, Mark Wood, Callum Morrison, Mark Forbes, Richard Forbes (Danny Rogers), Greig McIlwain, Bobby Drain (Sean Brennan), Dom Johnson, Derek Simmons.
