Huntingdon Town  4    Irchester United  1

Wednesday, 22 August 2012

Huntingdon repeated their recent cup win over the Romans to claim their first points in the top flight.

Stuart Eason's brace after 19 and 26 minutes put Town on the way to victory. His opener was a far post header and his second a tap in.

A 47th minute Barry McKenna reply put Irchester back in the game.

The Romans pressed for a leveller but left themselves vulnerable to home counter attacks.

Two late goals sealed Huntingdon's success.

Ben Sawyer scored the third home goal with a solo effort after 86 minutes with Dan Drane completing the scoring from an Eason pass in the last minute.
