Peterborough Northern Star 1 Huntingdon Town 4
Saturday, 29 September 2007
Star's first home defeat of the season saw them lose pole position in Division One as Huntingdon boss Darren Young made a winning return to the club he managed last term.
It was Star who drew first blood with a third minute goal from Wayne Morris, who converted a Steve Phillips free kick, but recent recruit Rob Maddox levelled for Huntingdon seven minutes before the interval with a free kick which took a deflection on its way into the net.
Goals from two ex-Star men gave the visitors the edge after the interval. Eddie Winks gave Huntingdon a controversial 65th minute lead when home defenders had handball claims turned down before the marksman lobbed home keeper Dave Beeney. The visitors' advantage was extended seven minutes later by substitute Yavin Owens.
Last season's Star top scorer Chris Caswell had the last word with a fourth Huntingdon goal after 84 minutes.
