Saturday, 22 September 2007

Struggling Eynesbury made a predictable exit against strong opponents at Hall Road.

Widely travelled marksman Sam Banda gave Whitton the lead after nine minutes, converting an Andy Atey cross and Banya doubled Whitton's advantage after 18 minutes with a far post header. Gavin Crane all but ended the home challenge with a third Whitton goal after 21 minutes, firing home from 15 yards.

Danny Workman saved a Kevin Inglis spot kick early in the second half after bringing down Banda.

Peter Collins reduced the arrears with a 75th minute penalty awarded for handball but the visitors sealed their passage to the next round six minutes from time through Darren Mills.

Late on Rovers were reduced to ten men after Kirk Kidd received a second caution.
