As the season comes to a close the teams that Clevedon Colts play seem to raise there game to cup final level and today was no exception as they ran out winners by the odd goal in five. Clevedon started really well and in the first five minutes should have been two up, with Liam Hall going close. It was only a matter of time before inform striker Dave Banks put Clevedon one up with a well placed header from a excellent Joe Bennett cross. Clevedon failed to take there chances and soon found themselves two goals to one down as Frys Colts struck back with two goals from Shane Millard. Just before halftime Danny Clarke scored with a well hit shot to make it two all at the interval. Clevedon came out for the second half and carried on from they had left off before the break and Lee Brice linked well with Luke Mortimore to put Liam Hall through to give put Clevedon into he lead. Throughout the second half Clevedon were unable to finish the chances they created but with Kenny Sandy, Dave leech, Chris Rielly and Nick Steadman in fine form the Clevedon goal was never troubled and the final score was 3-2 to Clevedon Colts. |
