Knockout Cup winners Desborough's hopes of taking the runners up medals in the league were dashed deep into stoppage time as Buckby booked a top three finish.

The sides swapped first half penalties with Darren Harmon giving Buckby a 13th minute advantage after a handball and Michael Byrne equalising after 25 minutes with his 28th goal of the season. Byrne had been brought down himself by a combination of Dan Burke and Stuart Smeathers.

Darren Lynch gave Buckby all three points with the decisive goal in the sixth minute of time added on, slotting home from close range after Jon Crockett had miskicked Ben Foster's centre.
