Stotfold 3 Northampton Spencer 2
Tuesday, 08 April 2008
The championship is Stotfold's barring an unlikely combination of results. If they lose their last three games and Blackstones win their last five it will come down to goal difference but Stotfold have a massive lead on that score.
Spencer made a game of it at Roker despite falling behind to a fifth minute spot kick converted by Lee Allinson after a Joel Mason shot was handled, Kevin Slinn levelled for the Millers with another penalty on the quarter hour after the lively Ashley Bradshaw was brought down.
Skipper Tawhid Juneja restored the Eagles' advantage from a Mason cross after 24 minutes and Mason extended the lead two minutes into the second half, curling in a first time shot from a right wing cross by Ricky Case.
Steve Jelley scored a second for Spencer after 51 minutes after a good run and pull back from Bradshaw but Stotfold maintained their lead to the final whistle.
