Fry Colts played above themselves today when they limited Highridge United to 2 goals in this quarter final of the League Cup. Both of the Highridge goals were scored in the first half by Ben Hayes. The first came from a 30-yard free kick that hit the underside of the bar and went in. The second resulted from a great cross from the right by Brett Bowman which he picked up, beat the oncoming defender, and slotted beyond the reach of the keeper. Late in the game Fry broke through and only a good save from Sam Clifford prevented them from pulling a goal back. This win takes Highridge through to the semi-final where they will meet Roman Glass. |
