Blackstones 0 Stotfold 3

A first title is within touching distance for the Eagles after this convincing win over their nearest threat Blackstones at Lincoln Road.
Stotfold had the benefit of the swirling wind at their backs in the first half and quickly seized the initiative.
Joel Mason had a header cleared off the line by Ross Watson in the first minute while Paul Garrett had an early free kick saved.
A defensive blunder let in Mason whose pass enabled Garrett to open the scoring with a shot into the roof of the net with just seven minutes played.
Phil Stebbing brought Brad Gillham into action while at the other end Ian Flavell saved low at the foot of the post from Lee Allinson.
Stotfold doubled their lead after 27 minutes when Garrett curled in a corner and Luke Donnelly headed in unchallenged at the far post.
Blackstones needed an early response on resumption but Liam Harrold failed to convert a couple of set piece openings.
Stotfold sealed their win on 56 minutes with a well worked goal. Garrett started the move with a pass to Mason on the right, his crossed was dummied by Allinson and Garrett swept the ball home.
Tawhid Juneja had a header tipped over by Flavell after meeting a Garrett free kick, while substitute Ashley Stevens had the ball in the visiting net but only after fouling Gillham.
Flavell saved a 20 yard Allinson snap shot and from the resulting corner Allinson was again thwarted by Kevin Ainslie's clearance off the line.
