Wootton Blue Cross  1    Long Buckby  2

Saturday, 05 April 2008

Wootton are staring relegation in the face after this defeat against high riding Buckby.

Blue Cross took the lead after 14 minutes through skipper Scott McGregor's penalty after Gavin Batt was brought down by Jamie Wright, but Darren Lynch marked his return from suspension with Buckby's 25th minute leveller, a close range header from a Carl Holmes flick.

A precious point slipped through Wootton's grasp when Lynch scored an 82nd minute winner after Holmes flicked on Farhad Afandiyev's long clearance.
