Rushden & Higham warmed up for their Junior Cup final against Rothwell Corinthians with a confidence boosting league win - only their second in a dozen games.

Three first half goals saw off the Romans at Hayden Road.

Stefan Morris gave Rushden & Higham the lead eight minutes in, turning his marker to fire home from the edge of the box.

Jason Kew joined him on the scoresheet after 29 minutes, collecting a through ball and slotting home, and Morris all but sealed the win a minute before the interval.

Andy Pixton scored an Irchester consolation with five minutes of the game remaining.
