Stotfold  1    St Ives Town  2

Tuesday, 01 April 2008

Stotfold suffered their first reverse of 2008 as St Ives' victory revived the title hopes of the pack chasing the Eagles at the top of the table.

The foot of the post denied Joel Mason an early opener for the Eagles while at the other end Scott Fielding had a shot deflected onto the crossbar.

The pacesetters took a 34th minute lead through Luke Donnelly who converted a Lee Allinson free kick.

The home side missed three good chances early in the second half and this proved costly.

St Ives turned the game round with Jamie Blackwell their matchwinner with goals after 57 and 74 minutes. His first was a header from a right wing cross by Jason King and his second a far post shot from a centre from the left by Dan Newman.
