Fry Club Colts  1    Brislington Juniors  2

Sunday, 05 February 2006

The game started well with Brislington playing uphill and having most of the first half play. The first goal came 10 minutes into the game when a ball was played into the box from Adam Gregory's corner and headed into the Fry's net by Rob Scriven. Continual pressure on Fry's forced them into making mistakes and 10 minutes later when James Donnegan took a throw in it rebounded off a Frys defender back to the feet of James who beat two defenders to put the ball at an acute angle into the Frys net to put Brislington 2:0 up. Frys did not give up and when ever possible pushed forward and when they broke away from the defence a trip in the Brisliangton box gave them a penalty. Richard Cox stepped up and the Brislington keeper, Will Osborne, was unable to prevent the ball from hitting the back of the net. The second half was well played by both sides but no goals resulted. Brislington had 3 shots coming off the Fry?s post, one a quality shot from Sam Smith which deserved a result but the woodwork prevented this from happening. The game was played in good spirit by both sides and Brislington finished by wining 2:1.
