Saturday, 15 March 2008

Stotfold inched closer to the Premier title with this win at Westwood Road.

Both sides were reduced to ten men within the opening quarter of an hour with home defender Dan Newman and visitor Callum Donnelly receiving red cards.

Home keeper James Jackson made some good saves to keep the league's top scoring team at bay until late in the contest.

Lee Allinson converted an 82nd minute spot kick, awarded for Dan Pilsworth's foul on Louis Lee, to give the Eagles maximum points and a seven point lead at the head of the table.

The Saints battled to the end with Liam Kennett twice denied in the closing stages by goalline clearances.
