St Neots Town  1    Wellingborough Town 2004  2

Saturday, 15 September 2007

Inspired substitutions by Wellingborough boss Nick Ashby were the key as the Doughboys struck late to claim an unlikely victory after the Saints ran the game in the first half.

Ryan Francis gave St Neots the lead after 26 minutes after a Barrington Belgrave shot was half cleared but they failed to kill off the visitors.

Nathan Buckland preserved the home side's lead turning the ball onto the post after Jon Mitchell's lob beat goalkeeper Martyn Patching who had come on for the injured Roy Bloxham shortly after half time.

Seven minutes from time substitute Alfie Taylor levelled after fellow replacement Adam Hancock created the opening with a knock down and two minutes later Hancock's flick from a Dan Grainger cross won it for the Doughboys.
