St Neots picked up only their second point in at Tattershall Road six seasons but this scoreless stalemate all but ended the title ambition of both clubs, for whom a top five target now looks more realistic.

Saints coach Steve Fox was pressed into service when goalkeeper Jon Chatfield was injured and proved his worth with good saves from Gary Nimmo and Leigh Taylor, while at the other end Mark Burrows was narrowly off target with a header from a corner.

James Hall twice went close for the visitors after going on as a substitute, but Boston could have won it at the death. Nimmo's knock down found Shaun Baker unmarked but he blazed over with the goal gaping.

Boston: Bart Griemink, Neal Spafford, Matt Price, Liam Ogden (Ollie Pinner), Shaun Baker, Matthew Kennedy (Gary Bull), Laszlo Lovas, Paul Goodhand, Gary Nimmo, Leigh Taylor (Nathan Collins), Mbiyeye Medine.

St Neots: Jon Chatfield (Steve Fox), Dean McElroy, Paul Bloss, Steve Dogbe, Mark Burrows, John Hall, Danny Marlow, Jon Hoggett, Dave Fisk, Barrington Belgrave, Luigi Rocco (James Hall).
