Desborough's powerful first half display kept them in the thick of the title race as they swept the Wakes aside.

Paul Caswell opened the scoring for Ar Tarn after sisteen minutes.

Chris Logan headed a 32nd minute second but Alex Harrison replied for the Wakes secen minutes later.

A lively finish to the first half saw Michael Byrne restore Desborough's two goal lead after 44 minutes converting a disputed  penalty awarded for handball against Aaron Ridout, and he scored again a minute later.

The second half was low key by comparison but Byrne completed his hat trick with three minutes remaining.
