Eynesbury Rovers  3    Peterborough Northern Star  0

Saturday, 23 February 2008

Rovers produced the upset of the day to hit Star's promotion prospects.

There was early controversy as Star's Chris Plummer received his marching orders for a foul on Brett Bellamy which was committed by team mate Phil Anderson.

Eynesbury's Peterborough based striker Jamie Graham broke the deadlock against his home town club a minute before the hour, heading in a Stuart Humphreys free kick and five minutes later Bellamy marked his return from suspension with a second Rovers goal, a superb effort from 25 yards.

The woodwork denied Adam Scotcher a Star reply and Humphreys sealed the win eight minutes from time after combining with Bellamy.
