Wootton Blue Cross  2    Cogenhoe United  3

Tuesday, 11 September 2007

A dramatic finale at Weston Park saw Cogenhoe claim victory just when it seemed to have slipped through their grasp.

Rob Foster had Cogenhoe ahead at the break, netting after 24 minutes, and Darren Collins's side looked set for victory when their other summer recruit from Whitworths Ben Holley added a second goal on the hour from Jack Ashton's ball in.

Wootton hauled themselves back into the game through Darrell Elliott after 85 minutes and sixty seconds later Gavin Batt levelled for Blue Cross.

With Wootton looking set for a fifth successive draw an 87th minute penalty won all three points for the Cooks, Rob Goldring the marksman from the spot.
