Blackstones  0    Boston Town  2

Wednesday, 12 September 2012

Stones' slump continued as they were well beaten by a slick Poachers side at Lincoln Road.

Boston were sharper from the off and went ahead twelve minutes in when Matt Barber netted with a fierce strike from a Callum Stocks lay off.

Michael Nelson forced Doug Lindberg into a save when Blackstones replied but the visitors almost extended their lead when Stocks struck the woodwork from Sam Kirton's pull back.

Lee Crockett twice saved well from the lively Josh Ford before Barber's dipping volley was just too high.

Co manager Ian Dunn scored a second for Boston after 33 minutes, controlling and firing home from outside the box.

The second half was more even, but Stones rarely threatened a comeback. Their only good effort on goal came from Sam Bettinson's header against the underside of the crossbar just before the hour mark, while lad on sub Tom Ruck shot just wide for Boston after a good run.
