Newport edged their way past lower grade Corinths to reach the last 16 of the Knockout Cup.

Vinny Shrieves, who had earlier struck the crossbar, put the Swans into a twentieth minute lead from close range but Tony Ielapi levelled twelve minutes past the half hour mark, firing a shot into the top right hand corner.

Substitute Daren Dykes scored Newport's clincher after 68 minutes with an 18 yard strike after rounding keeper Brad Wilson. By then Newport were down to ten men after Domonic Lawless was dismissed.
