St Neots Town  1    Boston Town  0

Saturday, 05 January 2008

For the second week running St Neots knocked their visitors off the top of the Premier Division, in the process reviving their own promotion push.

The Saints had much the better of the opening half but it was Boston who were closest to a goal when Paul Bloss cleared a Garath Pritchard header off the line.

A scrambled Ryan Francis goal eleven minutes into the second half saw the Saints to victory after Kevin Byrne knocked down a Luigi Rocco cross.

Byrne had the ball in the net for St Neots but the point was ruled out for a push by Francis, while the stoppage time dismissal of Ollie Pinner saw Boston finish the match with ten men.

St Neots: Jon Chatfield, Tony Russell (Mark Franklin), Paul Bloss, Steve Dogbe, Mark Burrows, Jon Hoggett, Dave Fisk (Mark Barry), Danny Marlow, Luigi Rocco, Kevin Byrne, Ryan Francis (Ben Cole).

Boston: James Doughty, Liam Ogden (Nathan Collins), Neal Spafford, Nick Lovelace, Shaun Baker, Mark Foster, Laszlo Lovas, Paul Goodhand, Garath Pritchard, Gary Bull, Ollie Pinner.
