Premier Division

AFC Kempston Rovers  2    Stewarts & Lloyds Corby  1

Saturday, 29 December 2007

With 14 points still to make up AFC Kempston's Premier Division future hardly looks bright, but after a run of 16 consecutive defeats, they'll be delighted to have picked up their first home win at the expense of mid table Stewarts & Lloyds.

Matt Cheveralls gave the Walnut Boys a 32nd minute lead with a header but two minutes later Bobby Drain equalised for S&L.

The Corby side could find no response though after a 56th minute James Cooper header from a Tom Damon cross restored Kempston's lead.  The visitors dominated the closing stages and had two penalty appeals rejected but the Walnut Boys held on to claim their second win of the campaign.
