Northampton ON Chenecks 1 Eynesbury Rovers 3
Saturday, 29 December 2007
New Eynesbury managerial duo Al Lenihan and Pat O'Keeffe enjoyed a winning start at the Rovers helm, and two of their new recruits were on the scoresheet at high riding Chenecks.
Ex-Huntingdon man Brett Bellamy gave Eynesbury the lead on the half hour, converting Jamie Graham's left wing cross and five minutes later a second goal from Ian Dawkes left the visitors well in control, the striker cutting into the box before firing home.
Graham hit the bar from a Darren Woodhead cross but had better luck on the hour, heading a debut goal to wrap up Eynesbury's win.
Leading scorer Lee Bradley netted a Chenecks consolation twelve minutes from time but the home side ended the afternoon a man down after Scott Barczewski was shown a second yellow card.
Chenecks: Ben Garratt, Vinny Maye, Steve Allen (Justin Ayre), Joe Evans (Greg Randall), Nathan Cook, Jason Bradshaw, Scott Barczewski, Jon Burdett (Dan Machardie), Marc Cross, Lee Bradley, Dan Webster.
