Wednesday, 26 December 2007

New manager Roger Burr enjoyed a winning start at the Wootton helm with this derby success at Hillgrounds.

Blue Cross were quickly striving to impress the new boss and opened up a two goal lead. Gavin Batt opened the scoring against his former club after twelve minutes and five minutes later Craig Daniel added a second for Wootton.

Matt Risborough replied for the Walnut Boys after twenty minutes but the visitors' two goal margin was quickly restored with a 24th minute effort from another ex-Kempston man Krysztof Karpiuk.

Substitute Jamie Cole completed the scoring three minutes into stoppage time at the end of the game.
