Division One

Burton Park Wanderers  1    Rushden & Higham United  3

Wednesday, 26 December 2007

Rushden & Higham won for the first time in eight games to leave Burton anchored to the foot of the Division One table.

The Lankies took an early grip on the game, going in front after eleven minutes through Karl King and six minutes later Dave Townsend added a second for the visitors after good work by Martin Mitchell.

Mike Houghton replied for Burton after 22 minutes, and the contest boiled over on the stroke of half time with home co-manager Andy Lambert and visiting player Tom Woods receiving their marching orders.

King's second goal ten minutes from time ended Rushden & Higham's run of poor results.
