Long Buckby  7    AFC Kempston Rovers  0

Saturday, 22 December 2007

Predictably Long Buckby were the day's highest top flight marksmen as they plundered a big home win over a Kempston side whose losing run now stands at fifteen games.

Jason Lee set the ball rolling after 22 minutes with a left footed free kick and the match was ended as a contest by two goals in a minute late in the first half. Richard Bunting netted after 39 minutes from Jon Crockett's pass with top scorer Ben Foster scoring his 23rd of the season 60 seconds laterafter latching onto a Crockett pass and outpacing the visiting defence.

Crockett was the star of the show on resumption. He opened his account three minutes into the second half following Foster's left wing run and scored again from six yards two minutes past the hour.

Danny Duggan put his name on the scoresheet after 76 minutes, winning a tackle in the Kempston box and turning to fire home, before Crockett completed his hat trick eight minutes from the end, sidefooting home at the near post from a corner.
