St Ives will have to try again in Essex after being held at Westwood Road by Romford.

Jamie Blackwell gave the Saints the lead with just nineteen minutes to play, firing home off a post from 25 yards, but  Romford were quick to reply through Danny Rafis who scrambled a leveller from a disputed free kick just two minutes later.

Romford had skipper Ricky Makin dismissed for a second caution after 85 minutes but St Ives were unable to make their man advantage count in extra time.

Graeme Thackray blazed over with just the keeper to beat while at the other end a goalline clearance by Will fordham kept the Saints on terms.
