Holbeach United 3 Long Buckby 3
Saturday, 15 December 2007
An impressive second half comeback earned Buckby their ninth draw of the season.
Holbeach took charge of the match in the last seventeen minutes of the first half. Liam Nimmo's 21st goal of the seasonfrom a Tommy Treacher pass gave them a 28th minute lead, with Adam Jackson's second four minutes later strengthening their grip on the game.
When Matt Oswin scored the Tigers' third goal from the penalty spot after 39 minutes following a foul by Buckby keeper Farhad Afandiyev, the Bucks looked to be heading for only their third defeat of the season.
Carl Holmes opened the visitors' account a minute past the hour mark, firing into the bottom corner from a rolled free kick by Darren Harmon and 60 seconds later they scored again through Ryan Nash who headed in Ben Foster's cross from the left.
Holmes equalised for Long Buckby after 67 minutes with a header from Jason Lee's corner, while the Tigers had the ball in the net late on when the visiting keeper could only help in Oswin's flag kick, but the point was ruled out for a foul.
