Yaxley 0 Stotfold 5

Stotfold stole a march on their inactive rivals to move into the top three with a convincing win over the Cuckoos at Leading Drove.
Eagles custodian Brad Gillham was forced to race out of goal to kick clear from the dvancing Mark Paul early on while Stotfold's first opening saw Callum Donnelly play in Paul Garrett whose well struck shot found John Feetham well placed to save.
A fine tackle from Anthony Thomas halted a good run by Joel Mason before Stotfold took a 25th minute lead. Chris Lenton was penalised for handball in the box and Lee Allinson converted the spot kick.
Lenton almost made amends but his header from a corner was wide of the target.
Stotfold doubled their lead after 35 minutes when Garrett's corner from the right was flicked in by Allinson despite the efforts of a defender to clear on the line.
Lee Blewett missed another good opprtunity for the Cuckoos but the home side had a let off when Callum Donnelly's long range effort found the net only for Mason to be ruled offside in the centre of the penalty area.
The reprieve was brief as Stotfold extended their advantage after 41 minutes, Mason breaking quickly to feed Callum Donnelly who scored at the second attempt after Feetham blocked his first shot.
Half time substitutions brought Jimmy Dean and Ricky Hailstone into the fray for Yaxley and just three minutes had elapsed in the second period when Dean headed against the visiting crossbar.
Stotfold were home and dry after 70 minutes when Callum Donnelly's centre from the right was met by a towering header from Garrett.
Scott Bogusz had a long range effort saved as Yaxley sought a consolation but it needed the crossbar to deny Allinson a hat trick goal from distance with a quarter of an hour remaining.
Garrett was narrowly too high with another long range shot before Stotfold scored a fifth goal after 85 minutes. Allinson's diagonalpace released Mason on the left and he unselfishly squared the ball for Callum Donnelly who netted his second goal again after Feetham had blocked his initial attempt on goal.
