A powerful second half display earned United all three points at Hall Road.

After a scoreless first half United quickly grabbed the lead on resumption through Tony Burt, who found the Rovers net on 49 minutes after Joel Young and Wayne Richardson combined. Allan Haynes added a second eight minutes later with Jamie Jollands the provider and Young added number three on the hour after rounding home keeper Danny Workman.

Leigh Roberts scored Daventry's fourth from a set piece after 82 minutes with Young rounding off the scoring with his second goal in the final minute. 

Rovers had both Neil Morris and Scott Kingsbury dismissed late in the contest, the latter for two cautions in the space of a minute.
