Holbeach United  3    Newport Pagnell Town  1

Saturday, 01 December 2007

Carters Park has never been a happy hunting ground for the Swans and this was their fourth defeat in five visits since returning to the top flight.

The sides exchanged first half penalties. Following a foul on Lee Orrey Liam Nimmo scored for the Tigers after sixteen minutes, albeit with a follow up after his kick was saved, and Drew Mitten replying for Newport two minutes past the half hour with a twice taken kick after home keeper Nick Conroy brought down a visiting forward.

Nick Keeble headed against the bar from an Andy Lodge corner early in the second half.

Nimmo's seventeenth goal of the season after 61 minutes, following good work by Tommy Treacher, restored Holbeach's lead. Conroy tipped a Martin Kelly free kick onto the crossbar to preserve Holbeach's lead and they sealed victory a quarter of an hour from time, Nick Keeble the marksman after Lodge and Nimmo combined.

Newport skipper John Thorpe received a second caution in stoppage time.
