Newport Pagnell Town  1    St Ives Town  1

Tuesday, 11 September 2012

St Ives dropped their first points of the campaign, but given their poor recent record at Willen Road this was a decent point for the pacesetters against another undefeated side.

The Swans took the lead after 22 minutes with an eight yard header by Richard Armstrong.

Jon Stead was denied an equaliser by a goal line clearance.

Conor Washington's ninth goal of the season, a shot off the post, ten minutes into the second half gave the leaders a share of the spoils.

It was Newport who went closest to winning it as Keith Williams fired against a post and in added time Dom Lawless rounded Nick Bennion only to miss the target with his shot.

Newport Pagnell: Josh McAdoo, Massimo Lagioia, Keith Williams, John Thorpe, Derek Brown, Liam Smyth (Sam Maude), Rob Tapp, Richard Armstrong (Jordan Spruce), Daren Dykes, Dom Lawless, Jared Cunniff.

St Ives: Nick Bennion, Jordan Lambert, Jamie Alsop, Dan Newman, Will Fordham, Jimmy Dean, Jon Stead, Lee Ellison, Conor Washington, Karl Gibbs, Stuart Cobb (Ben Walshe).
