Stones returned to winning ways to move to within two points of the leaders with games in hand.
Kevin Ainslie opened the scoring after 23 minutes with a 25 yard free kick after Phil Stebbing was sent tumbling and Blackstones went on to dominate proceedings with the woodwork denying Dan Cotton a second.
The Cuckoos' only real chance fell to Ian Edge whose shot bounced to safety off a post and the home victory was sealed by Luke Kennedy's shot from the edge of the box from a Ross Nicholls lay off a quarter of an hour from the end of the game.
