Northampton Spencer  0    Long Buckby  0

Tuesday, 27 November 2007

Spencer moved into the last eight as they edged out local rivals Buckby in a shootout.

Neither side could break the deadlock in either normal or extra time.

The shootout started badly for the Millers as Josh Urquhart's kick was saved by Paul Warnecki, and Darren Harmon fired Buckby in front.

Graham Cottle and Phil Cassidy netted for Spencer either side of a Ben Foster conversion for Buckby, and when Dan Burke hit the bar with the visitors' third kick it was all square.

Ian Giles scored for the Milles with Danny Duggan doing likewise for Buckby, and when Matt Collins slotted home Spencer's last kick the pressure was on Buckby's Stuart Smeathers. His kick cleared the bar to take Spencer through.

Spencer: Shaun Markie, Simon McCarthy (Dan Chilton), Josh Urquhart, Ian Giles, Jamie Langley, Pete Gregory, Scott Marshall, Steve Jelley (Graham Cottle), Matt Collins, Darren Frost (Tommy Stratford), Phil Cassidy.

Long Buckby: Paul Warnecki, Dan Burke, Craig Kelly, Stuart Smeathers, Darren Harmon, Jon Crockett, Lee Botterill, Richard Bailey, Danny Frid, Ben Foster, Danny Duggan.
