Raunds broke their wins duck at the 18th attempt and this win over fellow strugglers AFC Kempston saw them move above their vanquished visitors at the foot of the table.

After a goalless first half the Shopmates took charge after the break.

Gavin Fitzgerald opened the scoring five minutes after the restart, turning the ball in from a tight angle from Jamie Russell's corner, and a brace from Dane Ridgway after 57 and 63 minutes sealed a valuable victory for the Shopmates. Ridgway's first was a deflected shot which wrongfooted Rovers keeper Darren Ball and his second was from brother Callum's pass.
