Deeping Rangers  2    Desborough Town  1

Saturday, 08 September 2012

Rangers notched up an important against the last side to beat them in league action back in January.

Michael Byrne put Deeping in front from close range after ten minutes.

A series of fine saves from Richard Lavin kept the home attack at bay but six minutes before the break Ciaran Holt scored a second for Rangers, converting a Kevin Brader delivery from the left.

Kevin Byrne's fifth goal of the season, a header from Richard Scott's well placed free kick, put Desborough back in the hunt three minutes into the second period.

Deeping had to run down the clock a man light after Chris Logan's dismissal for a second yellow card.

The closest Desborough came to an equaliser was a Kevin Byrne shot against the crossbar.
