Newport Pagnell Town  3    St Ives Town  1

St Ives' seven match unbeaten run came to grief at Willen Road as the Swans made it five without defeat themselves.

Three goals in seven first half minutes wrapped this one up for Newport. Teenager Drew Mitten set the ball rolling after 19 minutes with a shot from the edge of the box. John Thorpe added a second two minutes later, netting with a left foot shot after the Saints defence failed to clear a corner.

Mitten broke through the visiting defence to score his second goal after 26 minutes and that  all but settled the outcome.

Newport had Richard Armstrong sent off after 55 minutes but all the Saints could manage in reply was a trademark 67th minute free kick from Will Fordham.
