Desborough Town  2    Stotfold  1

Saturday, 10 November 2007

After crashing to their first defeat of the season last time out this was a test of character for Ar Tarn and they came through with flying colours against the Eagles.

Stotfold almost grabbed the lead five minutes in when Tommy Hull's header from a corner was blocked on the line.

Desborough took the lead on the half hour through Jamie Gilsenan, who fired home after dribbling past two visiting defenders, and they went further in front after 64 minutes through top scorer Michael Byrne who cut in from the right to score with a cross shot.

Seven minutes from time Stotfold substitute Wayne Mullooly scored after racing the keeper to the ball on the edge of the box to make it a nervous finale, but Ar Tarn held on to take all three points.
