Pucklechurch lost out to1st Division Frys Colts by the odd goal in three. Pucklechurch started brightly and had the majority of possession but Frys caught them on the break to go 1:0 up through an Andy May goal somewhat against the run of play. Pucklechurch showed good heart and responded to the challenge and drew level 10 minutes before half time through a well taken Mike England left foot shot that beat the Frys keeper. The second half was very close with both sides battling hard. As Pucklechurch pressed forward Frys caught them short of numbers at the back, which resulted in a Frys free kick in a central position on the edge of the Pucklechurch penalty area. Richard Kot placed the free kick into the roof of the net for Frys second and winning goal. Again Pucklechurch responded and despite having the lions share of the possession could not break down the Frys defence to leave the final score 2:1 to Frys. |
