Nathan Frater's ten minute hat trick in the first half gave the Royals the scalp of the day as they followed up their Knockout Cup win over the Doughboys with a league success at the Dog & Duck.

Frater opened the scoring after 32 minutes with a left footed shot into the bottom corner, he then doubled the lead sixty seconds later with a volley and completed a rapid fire hat trick three minutes before the interval with a 25 yard free kick which took a deflection.

Wellingborough rallied in the second half with Kevin Byrne reducing the arrears after 68 minutes with a well struck effort from Jon Mitchell's flick. Byrne added a second six minutes from time from a Vinny Shrieves pass but Potton held on to claim a famous victory.
