In another high scoring Cup game Backwell overcame Fry Colts by 7 ? 4. After 20 minutes Backwell were wondering what was happening as Fry raced into a 4-goal lead when everything they touched seemed to result in a goal. The goals for the Colts were scored by Shane Millard, Mike Micciche, Wayne Green and Simon Hunter. After 25 minutes however Backwell got one back through Ricky Jefferies and the tide began to change. Before half time Backwell?s dominance began to show through and they scored a further 2 goals through Jefferies and Adam Philogene to leave them trailing by only a single goal. Immediately after the interval Backwell equalised with an Alex Bailey goal. From thereon Backwell remained camped in the Fry half and it was only a matter of time before more goals came. Further goals were scored by James Slater and Alex Bailey (2) to give him his hat trick. |
