Irchester picked up their first win since day one of the season as they edged out struggling hosts Sileby at Fernie Fields.

Recent recruit Ryan Comery gave the Romans a third minute advantage but Rangers levelled after 44 minutes through Tim Clack.

Buoyed by that goal Sileby took the lead two minutes into the second period through Sam Callear, but Craig Sturgess equalised for Irchester ten minutes later.

The Romans won the contest with a decisive goal from Gary McCourtie after 72 minutes.
