Saturday, 11 August 2007

An 89th minute goal from Tony Russell gave St Neots all three points at the Abbey Lawn leaving the Wakes without reward after twice battling their way back into the contest.

The visitors took the lead after 23 minutes through Craig Reynolds  who netted from 25 yards but sixty seconds later Bourne equalised, Aaron Ridout the marksman with a header from John Currall's corner.

New signing Dave Fisk restored St Neots' advantage from ten yards after 68 minutes, but when Jason Gough converted a spot kick following a foul by Tom Moran on substitute Ben Houghton ten minutes from time the Wakes looked set for a point until Russell's late intervention, converting a free kick with a volley at the far post.
