Blackstones 5 Stewarts & Lloyds Corby 1
Saturday, 03 November 2007
In the 2006-07 season Blackstones scored eleven goals in two matches against S&L and they were again in fine form in front of goal as the sides met for the first time this term.
Liam Harrold's seventh minute penalty awarded for a foul by Mark Wood, put Stones on the way to a tenth successive win in all competitions and Dan Cotton doubled the lead after 16 minutes.
Bobby Drain produced an instant S&L reply after 17 minutes, but after Richard Forbes had a goal ruled out for an infringement the home side tightened their grip on the game in the second half.
Cotton scored his second goal after 65 minuntes and four minutes later he scored from the spot to complete a hat trick. S&L were reduced to ten men as Paul Djeneralovic was red carded for dissent over the penalty award.
S&L's Trevor Duncan also received his marching orders before Ashley Stevens completed the scoring three minutes from the end.
