The Shopmates produced a good performance against in form opposition but that first win remains elusive for Raunds.

A bright start from the home side saw Ben Allington denied by Nick Keeble's goalline clearance and then Holbeach custodian Nicky Conroy had to save at the feet of Josh Davis.

Andy Lodge's deflected effort was narrowly off target for Holbeach who took a 28th minute lead through Liam Nimmo who tapped in after home keeper Phil Turner saved from Tommy Treacher.

A fine double save from Turner denied Nimmo and Antonio Pascu, and seven minutes before the break Davis converted Ben Armstrong's left wing corner to level for Raunds.

On resumption Conroy saved well from Danny Frid whose smart turn in the box created the opening, and then Jamie Russell's pass found Armstrong whose well struck effort narrowly cleared the visiting crossbar.

At the other end Omar Joof's header was cleared off the line after Turner fumbled a Lodge flag kick while Nimmo wasted a great chance after Treacher's clever pass played him clear.

Raunds almost snatched victory two minutes from the end when Ricky Chambers sent Russell away on the overlap and substitute Dean King headed over from the left wing centre.
