Northampton Sileby Rangers 6 Eynesbury Rovers 0
Saturday, 01 September 2007
Eynesbury hadwon this fixture in the previous four seasons but an extension to the sequence never looked likely after Sileby took an early stranglehold on the contest.
It took just three minutes for Matty Cox to open the scoring with a low shot and fellow summer signing Sam Callear added a second sixty seconds later.
There was no let up for the visitors as Callear scored his second after 16 minutes with Lewis Haycock adding number four, the pick of the afternoon's goals cutting in from the left flank to score with a fierce shot, just twenty minutes on the clock.
The second half saw Sileby take their tally to six with further goals from Pete Smith on 51 minutes and Danny Smith six minutes later, Cox the provider on each occasion.
A goalline clearance denied David Watts a Rovers consolation.
