Premier Division
Yaxley 1 Sleaford Town 2
Saturday, 03 September 2011
Sleaford's comeback saw them claim their first points of the Premier Division campaign.
The Cuckoos started well enough taking a ninth minute lead through Lewis Stone's header from an Andy Lodge corner.
Sam Bettinson and Dan Fountain missed good chances to extend the home advantage while Aaron Fagan in the home goal made some good saves too.
Just twelve minutes remained when Charlie Ward hauled the Lincolnshire visitors on terms, chipping Fagan from out on the left after Pete Sutton played him in.
Jamie McCormack's spot kick, awarded for a foul by debutant Yaxley keeper Fagan on Sutton, two minutes into time added proved decisive as Yaxley were left in the bottom two without a win to their name.
