Rothwell Corinthians  3    Olney Town  4

Saturday, 27 October 2007

Corinthians suffered a rare home defeat at the hands of the Nurserymen.

Tom Johnson gave the home side the lead nine minutes in rounding off good work by Dave Briffa and Adam Fitzjohn but Scott Wrighting squared the match nine minutes later as his cross from the left went in off the underside of the bar.

Steve Foster struck twice to give Olney a two goal interval lead, opening his account after 24 minutes by converting a long ball over the home defence, and scoring again twelve minutes later following a quickly taken throw in.

Chris Torrence cut the deficit five minutes into the second half, converting Briffa's lay off from eight yards but with a quarter of an hour to play Jamie Harris restored the visitors' two goal lead with a twice taken penalty conceded by Kevin Fox who was red carded.

Torrence scored his second five minutes from time, heading in a Tom Johnson centre, but Olney hung on to claim their second away win of the season.
